Abstract
Chitosan ia being proved to be a
outstanding chemical and pharmacokinetic properties. The recent studies have
shown that chitosan has a wanderful impact on metabolic disorders particularly
the diabetes. In this study, we have evaluated the role of chitosan application
on diabetic foot and oral admininstrated for 20 days. Simultanously the dietary
calories were controlled to prevent the blood glucose spikes. The glucose was
monitored twice a day without use of any antidiabetic medication. At the end of
study, a significant improvement in healing of diabetic foot was observed. We
concluded that by controling blood sugar spikes with oral and topical
application of chitosan can help to recover from blood sugar, diabetic foot
infection and healing of wound
Biography
Nazir Ahmad has been working as
assistant professor and researcher since February 2013 in department of
Nutritional Sciences. He hold PhD degree in Nutrition and Biotechnology processes.
He has the experience of working with international scientists during his
master and doctoral studies in France where he did his master in “immunological
response to of milk proteins” from International French Institute for
Agriculture (INRA), Nantes, France and PhD degree on “postprandial lipemia and
hepatic function” from University of Lorraine, Nancy, France. His research
interests are to explore the functional characteristics of nutrients and
biological evaluation in health and disease.
